Job Seekers: Who to Follow on LinkedIn, A Resource List

Job seekers often ask me for a list of people to follow on LinkedIn for various job search tips. After searching for a recent resource list and coming up short, I asked my community to weigh in. And boy, did they ever!

After much time reviewing my initial post on LinkedIn, I put together the resource list below, which is divided into four categories: resume writers, coaches and thought leaders (of various types), LinkedIn-focused experts, and recruiters/talent acquisition folks.

A few important notes about the resource list:

First, this list is not exhaustive. It does not include everyone mentioned in the original post, as capturing each individual was hard. I started with frequently mentioned people and visited every profile to ensure there was indeed good sharing going on (otherwise, what is the point of recommending to follow someone who isn’t posting regular content?). Can I say for sure all of these individuals are ‘experts’? No, but the community recommends them.

Second, I categorized the people below primarily by how they promoted themselves in their LinkedIn headlines OR how the community consistently recommended them. The headlines are shared next to each person’s name below, and their name links to their profile (so click away).  Although many individuals overlap between categories (for example, someone might be both a resume writer and an interview coach), I only listed them in one category.

Finally, a tip about LinkedIn Top Voices: you may see this term referenced often in headlines and wonder what it means.  If an individual has the blue badge on their profile (see image below), they are part of LinkedIn’s invitation-only group of experts. Learn more about LinkedIn Top Voices.
